Name the hiring decision
The best pre-employment testing software is the one that supports the decision you actually make. A coding screen, a library of role tests, an enterprise video interview, a job-seeker practice tool, and a single verdict you can hand a client are different products. Write that decision down before you compare vendors.
Separate libraries, video tools, and proctored screens
Pre-employment assessment tools that sell a large test catalog are not the same as an AI interview platform or a proctored skills screen. TestGorilla, Testlify, Adaface, Criteria Corp, and iMocha are library or broad-assessment products. HireVue, Spark Hire, and Willo are video interview tools. Vervoe AI-grades simulations and auto-ranks candidates. Huru is AI interview practice for job seekers, not a hiring screen.

Decide what the score has to mean
Ask what you will hand a client. Some tools return per-test scores, some auto-rank a shortlist, and SkoreCheck resolves AI-scored candidate assessments to one labelled verdict: Submit, Fix first, or Reject, with the reasoning attached. On SkoreCheck the test is weighted far above the résumé, and hard rules can override the number when the test and the résumé disagree.
Why SkoreCheck weights the test above the résumé
Read the proctoring claim, including the limit
For a remote test, read what the vendor publishes about proctoring and what it refuses to do. SkoreCheck's proctoring page says the session runs in the browser with no download, easy cheats are blocked, other signals are flagged with video evidence for a human to judge, and nothing is auto-rejected. Do not add accuracy numbers the page does not state.

Compare the pricing model that is actually published
Do not fill in a price a vendor has not published. TestGorilla has a free tier and paid subscriptions. Testlify sells subscription tiers by candidate credits. Adaface's pricing is credit-based and published; this guide does not restate figures the comparison does not list. Criteria Corp quotes packages and offers a 14-day free trial for employers. TestDome is pay-as-you-go. Vervoe is pay-as-you-go per candidate. Spark Hire sells subscription plans by product. Willo has a free tier and a subscription. HireVue, iMocha, WeCP, and Glider AI are quote-based or enterprise. Codility uses annual invite blocks and is quote-based. Karat is per-interview and quote-based. Huru is free for job seekers, and its Enterprise price is not published. SkoreCheck publishes three tiers: Starter is $99/mo for 250 credits, Growth is $199/mo for 500 credits, and Scale is $299/mo for 800 credits, plus custom Enterprise. One credit equals $1.

Pilot one real requisition
Choose one or two tools that match the decision you named, read the head-to-head comparison, and run candidates you are unsure about. A library demo and a verdict on a live role answer different questions. SkoreCheck is in early access: IT and consulting screening is live, and healthcare and nursing screening is in development.
